There are a lot of businesses that either produce steel or manufacture steel products. Did you know that MacroAir fans offer the perfect solution to one of the biggest problems facing such companies?

Humidity and condensation are often problematic in areas that make or house steel products or use steel storage shelves and components. These companies can help maintain the quality and value of their products by reducing rust-causing condensation and humidity with MacroAir HVLS fan systems.

As you hopefully know by now, MacroAir fans are specifically designed to produce a very large and slow moving column of air. This air mass effectively circulates air in large buildings and this continuous air movement can keep moisture and humidity under control. If you think such a system might benefit you, be sure to contact us at (866) 668-3247. Let us help you!

MacroAir offers unique solutions for many different kinds of industries!

The fact is, a cool cow is a productive cow. Repeated studies have shown that HVLS fans significantly cool dairy cows through the evaporative cooling process. Studies show for every 3 degrees a cow is cooled milk production can increase by 2lbs per cow. These additional milk profits coupled with the energy savings, enable Airvolution™ HVLS fans from MacroAir Technologies to pay for themselves in a short period of time, and generate significant recurring additional profits to dairy operations after pay back.

Moving air breaks up the moisture-saturated boundary layer surrounding the body, accelerating the cooling effect. This cooling effect can be increased dramatically if used in conjunction with misting or wetting of the cows backs.

I am blessed to live in a place where the sun often shines. As I write this, I am looking outside at the sun and marveling at the power it brings. A nice sunny day has the power to brighten my mood. It also has the power to run our solar fan!

Some time has passed since we first unveiled the MacroVoltaic, but I’m still as excited about the prospects that this innovation brings as I was when it was still in development!

But what I am thinking about today are the MacroAir customers that live in places where the sun isn’t shining today. As we welcome the start of the fall season, some of our customers in cooler climates may wonder if the MacroVoltaic would even work for them. The answer is absolutely! We designed our solar fan to utilize an optional auxiliary and/or battery backup! Of course the system can be used as a completely stand alone solar fan, which is absolutely ideal for use in remote locations or as an alternative for anyone unable to run traditional AC power sources. But, used in conjunction with the auxiliary backup, the MacroVoltaic can store the power of the sun to use during the night or in cloudy weather. And, when both the auxiliary and battery backup are used, the batteries are still charged through the solar panels, but the auxiliary power ensures that there is always a power source available to run the system.

Basically…what that means is that anyone, anywhere, and in any location, can use our MacroVoltaic fans – the ONLY solar HVLS fans on the market! For more information about the MacroVoltaic, visit http://www.macro-air.com/products/big-solar-fan or call us at (866)668-3247.

There’s a little known and yet very lucrative use for our HVLS fans – cold storage!! It may seem silly or even completely counter productive to consider installing a ceiling fan (no matter how big it is) in a refrigerated room! But, what you may not realize is that installing one of our HVLS fans in a cold storage facility can help cut the cost of refrigeration significantly! In fact, one of our customers had energy savings that exceeded $100,000 within the first year of installing our units in their facilities!

Why do our fans work so well in refrigerated storage facilities? Because they are able to de-stratify varying air layers from floor to ceiling, creating an environment with a consistent temperature and less than a +/- 1-2 degree differential. This means that items stored at the top of storage racks are kept at the same temperature at those near the floor. Additionally, MacroAir fans help reduce the load on air handlers and improve cycle times.

MacroAir helps to keep your cool buildings cool! Call us at (866) 668-3247 for more information about how we can help you save money.

So if you know anything about MacroAir Technologies by now, you know that we offer innovative and green cooling solutions. We pioneered the HVLS fan industry and yes, of course, in our warehouse you will find our HVLS fans – “the greenest fans on earth!” But now you’ll also find another green cooling solution in our warehouse and our offices, also!

MacroAir recently purchased insulated water bottles for each of our 22 employees. Of course, this purchase helps keep our employees cool and hydrated in the hot California summer and, more importantly, simultaneously cuts down on our use of Styrofoam cups, eliminating this waste and making a conscious and company-wide effort to become even more green.

We are always brainstorming new ways for the company to be more environmentally conscious. In fact, another green project we are working on involves refining our packaging to use less cardboard. When we make even the smallest efforts and changes, the benefits are immeasurable to our environment and to future generations!

Because we are committed to being green!

Well, it’s Memorial Day weekend – the unofficial start to summer! And for many of us, summer means warmer or just downright hot temperatures! That makes summer the perfect time to install a MacroAir HVLS fan. The cool, gentle breeze created by our fans effectively moves stale air and breaks up the moisture-saturated boundary layer surrounding the body, accelerating evaporation and producing a cooling effect.

In environments where air conditioning is not feasible or possible, our HVLS fans provide an efficient and cost-effective alternative. When used in conjunction with air conditioning systems, our HVLS fans can significantly reduce cooling costs. Under moderate heat conditions, our industrial fans can be run without any air conditioning, cutting operating costs as much as 90% versus air conditioning and producing a pleasant open air environment. On hot days, the industrial fans can be run with the air conditioning thermostat set 10 to 15 degrees warmer while still achieving an equivalent cooling effect.

And with our Performance Guarantee, there’s just no better time to install a MacroAir fan!

Have a safe and enjoyable, not to mention cool, Memorial Day Weekend!

I am so very excited to be able to announce a recent development here at MacroAir that really has the office buzzing! MacroAir has been selected to collaborate with 4Front Engineered Solutions and will be manufacturing HVLS fans for 4Front under Kelley and Serco brand names.

Being selected to collaborate with 4Front on this project is such an extreme honor. It is because MacroAir excels in areas of importance, such as performance, durability, safety, and quality of manufacturing, that we were chosen as the only HVLS manufacturer deserving enough to be labeled with the Kelley and Serco name. This partnership only solidifies our standing as the industry leader in HVLS fan technology!

I am so proud to welcome 4Front into the MacroAir family and to join theirs. I truly believe that this partnership will bring great things for all of us!

MacroAir recently sponsored a CEU, or continuing education unit, through McGraw-Hill for architects needing to renew their licensing. The credit is being offered to any architect who successfully takes a test after reading an article entitled, “HVAC for Large Spaces: The Sustainable Benefits of HVLS (High Volume/Low Speed) Fans.” The article was originally published in the December 2009 issue of Architectural Record and the test was created to meet the requirements of the CEU.

There are four learning objectives identified for the CEU, which state that participants will have the ability to:

Explain how the simple physics of moving air makes HVLS fans a low energy, more sustainable alternative to traditional high-speed fan and HVAC solutions.

Identify the numerous applications where HVLS fans offer an equal or better alternative to traditional HVAC approaches.

Identify the design aspects and ventilation benefits of HVLS fans that contribute to sustainability and LEED® credits.

Specify HVLS fans that efficiently meet client and user needs.

We are excited to have been able to sponsor this CEU credit. If you’d like more information, click on the McGraw-Hill logo at the bottom of our website or visit: http://continuingeducation.construction.com/article.php?L=193&C=635

Until next time,
