  A Little Known Use…

  

  There’s a little known and yet very lucrative use for our HVLS fans – cold storage!! It may seem silly or even completely counter productive to consider installing a ceiling fan (no matter how big it is) in a refrigerated room! But, what you may not realize is that installing one of our HVLS fans in a cold storage facility can help cut the cost of refrigeration significantly! In fact, one of our customers had energy savings that exceeded $100,000 within the first year of installing our units in their facilities!

  Summer’s Coming…

  

  Well, it’s Memorial Day weekend – the unofficial start to summer! And for many of us, summer means warmer or just downright hot temperatures! That makes summer the perfect time to install a MacroAir HVLS fan. The cool, gentle breeze created by our fans effectively move stale air and breaks up the moisture-saturated boundary layer surrounding the body, accelerating evaporation and producing a cooling effect.

  MacroAir recently sponsored a CEU, or continuing education unit, through McGraw-Hill for architects needing to renew their licensing. The credit is being offered to any architect who successfully takes a test after reading an article entitled, “HVAC for Large Spaces: The Sustainable Benefits of HVLS (High Volume/Low Speed) Fans.” The article was originally published in the December 2009 issue of Architectural Record and the test was created to meet the requirements of the CEU.

  Focus on Energy Rebates Offered in Wisconsin

  

  We’ve recently heard about a great new incentive that is being offered by a Wisconsin organization by the name of Focus on Energy. Focus on Energy is offering a number of incentives, rebates, and programs for Wisconsin businesses utilizing energy efficient technology. And, you guessed it…one of their incentives includes a payment in the amount of $1,500 for the installation of an HVLS fan. Now you should note that this payment is given per fan installed by a business that meets their guidelines. We hope that potential customers in Wisconsin will take advantage of this program and perhaps other such programs will be implemented in other states, as well.

  Tax Incentives…

  So, being as it is now the week after April 15th, I of course realize that another tax deadline has just passed us by! Even so, it’s never too early to look into tax savings for next year! We recently added a new button to our website, called Tax Credits, that allows you to request information about tax incentives for an individual who has completed commercial projects to improve energy efficiency. Of course, because MacroAir fans are so incredibly energy efficient, many of our customers are able to take advantage of these specialized deductions!
