Features and Benefits of MacroAir Fans
Six Blade units run faster than the “original” ten blade units.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Efficiency-The industrial fan is more efficient because the blade is moving faster (in a more efficient speed range).
- Longevity- Torque vs. speed as related to horsepower.
———————–Torque * RPM
Horsepower = ———————-
—————————-5252
As RPM goes up Torque goes down for the same horsepower. Because Six Blade Industrial Fans run slightly faster than Ten Blade Fans the torque is lower. Torque is what hurts motors, bearings and gear reducers, so less torque is more life.
Six Blade units are lighter than the “OLD” ten blade units.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Less stress on the building.
- Lower freight cost.
- Easier to install.
Six Blade Industrial Fans have fewer blades than the “OLD” ten blade units.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Less expensive to install.
- Lower freight cost.
- Less fire sprinkler obstruction potential. Solidity Ratio (published solidity ratios vary from approximately 30% to 70%, MacroAir Technologies Six Blade industrial fans represent the low end of the range)
- Low carbon footprint – ELECTRICAL POWER: The electrolysis process used to produce aluminum requires large quantities of electrical power. When the cost of producing one ton of primary aluminum is broken down almost one third is devoted to electrical power. Because MacroAir Six Blade industrial fans utilize 40% fewer blades and aluminum the electrical power required to produce the product is 1/3 of 40% or 13% lower than 10 blade units. Green, before and after.
MacroAir Technologies MA24XL2006 is the industrial fan tested in the very successful ESFR full scale testing.
Benefits of this feature are:
- There is no question about Solidity Ratio or obstruction of ESFR sprinklers with regard to the testing done.
- Parts are always going to be easy to buy.
- Customers are not “tied” to high pricing associated with “custom” components.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Reduced cost of installation.
- Controlled distance between control panel and fan.
- Longer life of motor and bearings.
- Less high frequency noise.
- Control can be mounted outside the swept area of the fan for worker safety.
MacroAir Technologies industrial fans are supplied with a lockable service disconnect.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Reduced cost to installer and customer.
- Safety for service and installation.
Fans are supplied with a low voltage remote switch and low voltage remote shielded cable.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Reduced cost to installer and customer.
- Safety for service and installation.
- Safety for associates operating industrial fans.
MacroAir Technologies fans use gearboxes with “air vents”.
Benefits of this feature are:
- Less chance of leaking than unvented permanently sealed units due to temperature fluctuations during shipping.
MacroAir Technologies new Hybrid Hub has invertible blade holders.
Benefits of this feature are:
- The blades can be turned over to blow air up in the forward direction of the blade.
At the heart of every MaxAir and Airvolution fan controller there is a Danfoss FC51 variable frequency drive. This drive has been selected due to the many features and benefits that suit our application better than the many, many variable frequency drives we have tested and evaluated.
EMI/ RFI Emissions
MacroAir industrial fans come standard with a CE compliant input filter. When the filter is used with our motor cable and fittings, you are assured the apparatus will be compliant with worldwide standards for RFI and EMI emissions, as well as FCC part #15 legislation.
Long Service Life
The Danfoss FC-51 has a projected service life of 28 years. Conformal coating on the circuit boards provide protection from oxidation and corrosion, as well as vibration.
Wide Input Voltage Range
With the widest input power range in the industry, input voltage-induced nuisance trips are minimized, this means less down time and no need for line or load reactors or isolation
transformers. Other expensive items are reduced or completely eliminated.
High Efficiency
With a rating of 98% efficiency, the Danfoss FC-51 has the highest efficiency in its class. This means the drive does not produce a large amount of waste-heat, leading to a longer service life, as well as energy savings.
Security
The Danfoss FC-51 is equipped with a removable display, which is not necessary for operation. This has the advantages of less hardware to buy (saving money), as well as providing secured program parameters. With the display and keypad removed, unauthorized personnel cannot access the program parameters.
Flexibility
MacroAir fans can be controlled by most automated building management systems with no modifications, and can interface with digital type systems, including those which use digital protocols such as MODBUS RTU.
MacroAir 6 blade industrial fans are lighter to ship and easier to install
Reduces Shipping costs due to a reduction in blade extrusion that has to be shipped
- Up to 46% reduction in weight over the competition
- Approx. 30% reduction of weight over standard 10 blade
- Reduces size of equipment needed to install
- Smaller power unit requires a smaller lift to install
- Reduces number of people needed to install
- Smaller power unit can be lifted by one man
- Reduces load on attaching points because weight of fan is less
Lowest Stress on Building
- Load is spread by guy wires
- “universal joint” style mount pivots 360 degrees to connect with any angled surface preventing any unneeded stress
- Accel/Decel ramps limit load transmitted to mounting system and building
Lower running rotor torque reduces stress on building
- Higher RPM means a lower torque for the same Horsepower so the load on the mounting and building is lowered
- Lower solidity ratio makes less load in high wind situations
- Include state of the art variable frequency drives to tailor fan speed to specific needs
- Include input fusing and solid state overload protection (as required by the NEC)
- Include lockable service disconnect for each unit (as required by OSHA)
- Include NEMA 1 enclosure or optional NEMA 4X enclosure
- Include CE compliant input filters
- Include CE compliant motor cable and EMI/RFI shielded fittings
